The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining and improving the City’s infrastructure, public spaces, and essential services that support daily life. Our team works year-round to ensure safe roads, effective drainage, well-maintained parks and trails, and reliable public facilities.

We’re seeking a reliable, hardworking Public Works Maintenance Worker to support street, parks, and facilities operations. This role involves hands-on work maintaining City infrastructure, operating equipment, and responding to weather and emergency events.

All Public Works Positions must meet the following criteria:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Valid Driver’s License required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating manuals, and procedures.

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

  • Ability to follow written, oral, and diagram instructions.

  • Ability to perform physical labor (lift up to 100 lbs regularly).

  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

  • Must be available for on-call duty, emergency response, and schedule adjustments as needed.

  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours when required.

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and communication skills.

     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction, public works, or utilities.

  • Experience operating heavy equipment.

     

Work Environment:

Outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including exposure to heavy equipment, noise, and physical demands.
